Be polite Treat others how you’d like to be treated.

The timer is a suggestion. Feel free to discuss the topic at your leisure, but please be respectful of your debate partner’s speaking time if it’s their turn.

Stay on topic Talk about the topic and only the topic.

It’s easy to get sidetracked. Deeyoon debates only last three minutes, though, so try to spend the time talking about the topic at hand.

No personal attacks Attack the arguments, not the person.

Certain subjects invite more anger than others, but all Deeyoon debates should remain civil. Try to separate your debate partner from the ideas they’re presenting.
